Immediately escalate urgent symptoms, possible procedure complications, or other safety concerns to the RN or provider and follow the ASC emergency communication protocol.
Relay approved instructions and provider responses; refer questions requiring clinical judgment to the RN or provider.
Track open encounters and follow-up tasks through completion, including documentation of contact attempts and escalation of unresolved items.
Preprocedure Coordination
Contact patients before scheduled procedures to confirm arrival details, transportation and responsible-adult arrangements when required, and receipt of approved preparation instructions.
Use approved checklists to collect and document medications, allergies, recent illnesses, and changes in health status for RN or provider review.
Reinforce documented instructions regarding fasting, medications, and preparation; refer questions or discrepancies to the RN or provider without independently directing medication holds or restarts.
Prepare charts and obtain required orders, outside records, imaging, laboratory results, and clearance documentation for clinical review.
Flag missing information or preparation concerns promptly and coordinate with nursing, scheduling, and authorization teams to resolve barriers before the procedure.
Postprocedure Follow Up
Assist with follow-up calls using approved scripts and document patient-reported recovery status and concerns.
Promptly route new or worsening symptoms, medication concerns, or questions about recovery to the RN or provider.
Reinforce written discharge instructions as directed and assist with follow-up appointment coordination.
Clinical and Administrative Support
Support ASC patient intake, chart updates, and patient flow as assigned, including obtaining and documenting vital signs when trained and authorized.
Assist with scheduling changes and communicate readiness concerns or cancellations to the appropriate team members.
Maintain accurate records of assigned calls, readiness checks, and outstanding tasks; provide updates to ASC leadership.
Maintain supplies and work areas and assist with other clinical support tasks within documented training, competency, and assigned responsibilities.
Follow HIPAA, infection prevention, patient identification, safety, and organizational policies.
Team Collaboration and Professionalism
Provide respectful, compassionate service to patients, families, providers, and coworkers.
Collaborate with the ASC nursing team, providers, clinic staff, scheduling, and authorization teams to support continuity of care.
Demonstrate reliability, adaptability, discretion, and clear communication in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Proficiency with EMR systems, telephone workflows, and basic computer applications.
Ability to maintain professionalism, patient confidentiality, and composure under pressure.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive telephone and computer tasks throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way.
